Sculptra is an amazing product which can replace the full firm youthful appearance of the face by restoring volume and providing a lift for wrinkles and contour defects.

It is injected into the deep layers of the skin where it stimulates new collagen growth and plumps out the skin giving it a soft and more youthful appearance. Sculptra is considered a long lasting treatment and studies have shown  that treatments can last up to 3 years. It is ideal for the ageing skin,deep folds,wrinkles ,volume defects and contour enhancement.

Sculptra is a poly-L-lactic acid which is produced synthetically and is both biocompatible and biodegradable and does not require allergy testing.It has been used very safely as a compatible polymer in medicine for over 25 years. • Does the treatment hurt?
   

  Sculptra is injected after the skin has been anaesthetised with a topical anaesthetic cream.It is also diluted with an anaesthetic to minimise any discomfort.You may experience a slight burning sensation at the injection sites but this does not last long.

  The most common side effects of Sculptra are injection related with slight bleeding,tenderness,redness,bruising or swelling in the areas injected. These possible side efffects resolve spontaneously within 5-10 days.
• What should I do after a treatment?
   

  You will be advised to massage the treated areas several times a day for a few days following your treatment.This will help the Sculptra soften into the skin and enhance it's effect.
• When will I see the results of the treatment?
   

  You will see an immediate improvement in your looks following treatment with Sculptra as the liquids that the Sculptra are mixed in will temporarily volumise the skin. However, this will only last a few days and then the true benefits of the treatment will gradually show over the following few weeks. Sculptra continues to stimulate new collagen growth for up to about 9 months after each treatment.

  A course of 1 to 3 treatments over a period of about 3-4 months may be required to achieve the facial benefits desired.The length of treatment will depend on the age of the patient, number of wrinkles present and the visible volume/collagen loss of the face.
