Lip enhancements with Restylane Lipp and Perlane ® produce voluptuous lips that represent youth and beauty.

Before

After
Lips that are soft and full represent youth giving a warmer smile and a more confident appearance.
Lips start to thin as you age and often small vertical lines also develop above the lip margin (often called smokers lines). These look unsightly and cause lipstick to ‘bleed' upwards. Now with these latest injectables like Restylane,Perlane and Lipp ,your lips can be contoured to create the size and shape you desire and restore the lost fullness that time has depleted.
Restylane Lipp is the new Q Med product specifically designed for the lips to give a softer longer lasting effect in lip augmentation. The results produce a youthful more voluptuous look which is soft , mobile and gives a very natural appearance.
Vertical lip lines (smokers lines) can also be injected directly with Touch or softened by Lip margin enhancement.
Lip Enhancement FAQ
- How long does it take for the treatments to work?
The procedure takes about 30-60 minutes and the results are instant.
- Are The Treatments Painful?
Anaesthetic injections are given similar to those used by Dentists. This will ensure that the treatment is as pain free as possible.
- What will I look like immediately after the treatment and what are the side effects?
You will immediately see the benefits of the filler and your lips will look fuller. However, there may be some initial redness and swelling and occasionally some bruising at the injection sites. These symptoms generally settle over the next few days, though in some patients it may take up to one week.
Prior treatment with Arnica tablets for about 2 weeks can reduce potential bruising. It is also advisable to avoid ,if possible, anti-inflammatory medications such as Aspirin or Ibuprofen for 1 week prior to treatments as these medications can increase the risk of bruising.
As Restylane is not derived from animals there is little chance of any allergic reaction which means no skin test is required before treatment. Despite this, very rarely there can be an allergic response in 1 in 2000 patients which mayrequire treatment with anti-inflammatory medication.
- What can I do after the treatment?
You should leave the treated area alone for 48hours to let it settle, however clean (sterile) make up can be applied after a few hours. Avoidance of alcohol for 24 hrs and strong sunshine or facials for 2-3 days after treatment is also advised.
- How long does the treatment last for?
Lips last for about 6 months but this all depends on the type of skin and facial activity. Repeat treatments tend to last slightly longer.
- Does the filler just suddenly disappear?
These fillers are composed of non-animal Hyaluronic acid which is a gel like substance that attracts water in the skin. As the product breaks down it is replaced with water and therefore holds its shape until there is not enough product left any more. Only then is a gradual return of line and loss of volume seen.
- How often will I need to top up?
Most patients have top ups when they feel the effect is starting to wear off at around 6 months.
- Who is suitable for these treatments?
Almost everyone apart from those who are pregnant or breastfeeding.
- What happens if I do not have a top up?
Your enhanced lip effect will subside gradually until your lips look like they did before the treatment.
- Are there any long term problems?
No because it is completely natural and over time can be completely broken down by the body. Lipp/Perlane and Restylane are non-permanent dermal fillers and have demonstrated consistent safety over the last 20yrs.
